Although if you read around computer magazines this particular laptop is often classified under the midrange notebooks. This may be true but in my opinion you get better than midrange features for the price making it a very popular machine. One of the biggest and most noticeable features is the HP Pavilion dv4000 comes with the 2.13 GHz Pentium M 770, which is the fastest M class processor that Intel produces. This is one of the reasons why it’s easy to see how it won the Editor's Choice award from PC Magazine for the midrange notebook category. The HP Pavilion DV4000 has a host of multimedia options and is sold at the midrange price of $1,449 direct from HP Pavilion. It’s a very appealing notebook to users who want to play music and video. It also comes with a top of the range video card the ATI Mobility Radeon X700 which gives the system exceptional gaming performance among other things. The dv4000 is quite a heavy laptop at 6.6 lbs but this is because it comes with a large 15.4-inch widescreen display with the optional BrightView technology. This puts it among the heaviest laptops for its size, which may be a concern to some but I think the extra weight is well worth it considering what you get. For the price the HP Pavilion DV4000 laptop will be hard to beat in the multimedia notebook markets which are built for gaming, videos, and music activities.
